Frequently Asked Questions
-
How do I get started?Completing a client intake questionnaire is the first step, which is located on our Contact page. I can answer your questions and set up a session after looking over your details. I'm excited to get in touch!

What is your training philosophy?I am a relationship based and lifestyle trainer. I believe that every dog and every lifestyle is different and that my particular skill-set/ training philosophy doesn't fit into one box. I am a firm believer in doing what works to build up the relationship and clarify expectations on a case by case basis for the dog and owner sitting in front of me. I believe in being an unlimited dog trainer to maximize my ability to create a stress-free and harmonious life for pet owners and their furry pals.

How many sessions do I need?Since training and behavior modification takes time, a single session is typically insufficient to produce the best effects. To modify behavior and keep it that way, persistence, repetition, and time are required! The severity of the problem and the amount of time you have available between sessions to work with your dog alone will determine how many sessions and how long it will take to improve your dog's behavior. The majority of clients schedule their initial meetings every two weeks. We then meet every three to four weeks as their training progresses and they gain confidence in their abilities. More frequent sessions are usually advised for reactivity, hostility, and fear. Go to the Contact Page to set up a quick consultation, so I can give you a more personalized estimate of time and cost.

How should I prepare for training sessions?First session: There will be a lot of chatting, so be prepared. During our session, taking notes is recommended! Follow-up meetings Before our visit, give your dog some exercise. Stock up on some of your dog's favorite goodies. Verify that your dog is hungry. Please note on your intake form (found on the Contact page) if your dog has anxiety around strangers so that we can create a strategy and prepare your dog for success when I get to your home.

What if I need to cancel/reschedule an appointment?I understand that things come up, and that's okay! You may reschedule a session 48 hours or more in advance to avoid being charged for the session. You will be charged the full session fee for cancellations within 48 hours of the session.
